In making day-to-day transactions, it is an obligation of any business enterprises to provide a receipt to the customer. Receipts are given as an acknowledgment of which the payment is received by the recipient (usually the cashier) when a transfer of goods or the provision of  services have taken place.

Receipts may differ depending on what products or what services are being sold to the target market. Getting a Hotel Reservation Receipt

Hotel reservations are made through walk-in or online. Both walk-ins and online clients will have to fill up a reservation form about their room accommodation information, that includes the number of nights of their stay and the number of persons who are to accommodate on their chosen date/s and time.

What Does a Hotel Receipt Look Like?

Hotel receipts are the summary of the transactions made at the hotel, may it be from a bill of food ordered from the hotel restaurant, room accommodation or could be a summary of both with additional of special requests (like extra bed, extra towels, etc. – if there are any).

But hotel receipts are only issued once the payment is done, otherwise, the hotel bill information is given for references of how much is the amount payable of the clients, guests or customers. Technically, hotel bill information is the breakdown or the specification of all the transactions made by the the client.

These specifications include the room accommodation information such as how many nights, how many people, how much rate the room per night is, and other information about the room being occupied by the clients.

Similar to a hotel receipt are purchase receipt forms where the customer is given a receipt after purchasing an item, product or property.

What is Hotel Receipt Tax?

In every business company, it is essential that the provision of official receipts to the clients is ensured. Since with the official receipts, a compulsory contribution that is imposed by the government on workers’s income and business profits or even from the products or goods being sold is collected.

This is somehow similar as the VAT or value added tax which is a type of a consumption tax, in some other places, VAT is known as the goods and services tax (GST). Upon making a purchase or deal, seller and buyer fills up Blank Receipt Forms, as an evidence.

How To Create a Hotel Receipt

In making a hotel receipt, the transactions made should be detailed and should be categorized. If the transaction made was from the food order bills, then it should specify that it is from the restaurant, otherwise, it is a room accommodation. The category also includes the special requests or additional charges.

The person-in-charge, usually is the receptionist or the cashier, does the breakdown of the items (if needed) that are transacted in order for the clients to have track on what he/she as spent in the hotel. In making a receipt, the bill information is held as the reference for the transactions being made.

And as much as possible, the person-in-charge, lets the clients sign on each receipt by the end of the day, most especially if he/she decides to pay the bills upon check-out. After which payment has been made, Payment Receipt Forms are issued to each and every customer/clients.
