ontingent statement

A contingent statement is a type of statement that can be classified as a type of conditional statement that has the potential to be true, and at the same time, possess the potential to be false as well. This type of statement is more focused on the topic of philosophy than anything else, in general. This is because of the nature of what is considered contingent. Philosophy focuses on logic, hence the logical nature of contingent statements where the statements are true or false. To write a statement that is contingent will require some philosophical thinking.

A contingent statement is mostly used in philosophy. However, it can be used as well in cases involving the act of reasoning and questioning in the sense that it is only but a branch of philosophy. A contingent statement can also be used as a means of reviewing and analyzing other statements such as a witness statement where the witness statement is being used in an argument as a means of proof.

What is a Contingent Identity Statement?

By today’s standards, identity is simply the defining characteristics or trait of a person. But in ancient times, identity is not so simple. Back then, the term identity was questioned by so many philosophers as the question of what makes a person that kind of person. If you are wondering why I am talking about philosophy, the reason is that contingency is a part of philosophy.

So what is a contingent identity statement? Judging by what we know about the terms contingent and identify, a contingent identity statement simply means the potential identity of a person. Meaning, this type of statement is considered as a means of identifying an unknown person. Not all statements are so focused on philosophy, but they do follow logic and reason. An example of a statement form that follows these ideals are financial statement forms.

What is the Importance of a Contingent Statement?

Contingent statement forms are statements that can be considered important simply because of the fact that it could lead to potentially useful information that could help solve certain issues. However, it also means the information is incomplete, if not completely incorrect as well. Regardless, the information gained can still be used as a starting point in whatever task required the information.

Components of a Contingent Statement

As we know contingent statements can be true or false in nature it just depends on the type of question being asked. Now, here are the components of a contingent statement:

  • The true information of the person giving the contingent statement.
  • The contingent statement itself. (You could use a printable statement form for contingent statements)
  • The content of the statement. (The content of the statement must be written in a way where the information being shared is not fully supported but still has the potential to be true.)
  • Signatures of authorized parties must be included in the contingent statement.
