Physical Activity Guideline For Older Adults
The older you get, the harder it becomes to perform certain physical activities, however, here are some tips on how to maintain physical shape even in old age:
- If you’re an older adult, around sixty-five or above, and have no health conditions preventing you from doing certain strenuous physical activities, then it is recommended to perform moderate to vigorous exercises on a weekly basis.
- If you’re an older adult that cannot perform as much strenuous physical activities, then it is recommended to do moderate exercises.
- Vigorous exercises must be performed for at least seventy five minutes everyday for at least three to four days in a week. A good example of these kind of exercises would be running or biking
- Moderate exercises must be performed at least one hundred and fifty times a day. A good moderate exercise that anyone in their old age can do is walking.
