A Winning Approach to Writing Business Proposal Forms

The whole point of business proposals is to present your entrepreneurial vision to the world in a way that wins them over to your side. Some things to keep in mind to write a winning proposal:

  • Address each copy specifically to the relevant decision-maker who will be reading it.
  • Describe the current reality, situation, or issue of your potential clients.
  • Highlight your proposed business’s unique role in solving the client’s issue or answering a problem.
  • Underscore how your business would be a better option from competing businesses with similar missions, and how you would be the most cost-effective.
  • Define the reasonable parameters of the business cost and time frame – this is the core interest of your investors, so make sure you come across as professional, practical, driven, detail-oriented as well as results-oriented, and, most of all, competent enough to deliver.
  • Wrap up with a clear and definitive step: you call them in a few days, or instruct them to call you. Make sure each side knows what the next step is. Pave your own way.

This templates list covers a variety of businesses that start small and would benefit the most from a well-executed business proposal. For more examples of other business proposals, see the links in the additional resources list.

For smaller ventures, or enterprises within enterprises, you’ll want to look into some solid, professional Project Proposal Forms.
