What is an Incident Action Plan?

An incident action plan refers to the solution that was thought through by the team in order to solve or resolve a situation that was unexpected. Incident action plans are brought up in order to response an immediate action to what has unpleasantly occurred.

These plans are also made to avoid other possible risks or hazards that could be resulting to an incident. Technically, incident action plans are to correct and avoid the same mistakes from happening again. And if there are any cases that the plans happened to be ineffective, the team comes up for new plans that are potent and use Corrective Action Forms.

Incident action plan safety analysis is made in a form of a worksheet in order to have concise details about the incidents that are likely to occur. These worksheets are made during the incident action planning cycle for the emergency response team to develop appropriate controls and collaborate with one another to discuss the ideas that are gathered or collected.

This worksheet is used for easier approach in accomplishing an operational risk assessment of identified risks that are ranked according to its category of hazards, safety, and health issues. The incident details such as the type, the location of where it happened, the causes and the actions taken to solve or reduce risks and hazards of each, are analyzed through action forms that have been finalized. See Action Forms in Doc, to start your safety analysis of an action plan.

The analysis of the plan for safety should be done by a well-trained officer in order to avoid the worsening of the situation.

And of course, to ensure that the action plans are effective and the operation is safe for each and everyone. That is why an incident action plan safety analysis is done systematically by an authorized person.
