Action Forms are oftentimes used by companies, employers, school administrators, and teachers, in order to impose discipline and order in an organization. Discipline is an imperative part of managing groups of people, such as in school and workplaces, in order to maintain peace and order, to promote harmony among individuals, and to ensure that everyone is performing to the best of their abilities.

Imposing discipline and maintaining order can sometimes be a challenging task, especially if some people contest to it or dispute the allegations that have been outlined. This is the reason why an action form should be utilized to protect establishments and to provide tangible proofs or references in the event that someone questions the decisions that management or administrators have decided upon.

What Is An Action Form?

An Action Form is a form that lays out the corrective measures that have been suggested or recommended by someone. In an office setting, an action form can be utilized to correct an employee for non-performance, lack of productivity, or attendance issues.

For instance, when an employee is late in coming to work for more than three times in a month, an action plan is devised by his supervisor to help him address his tardiness issues. If an employee has trouble catching up with the required quota in a month, an action plan is drawn up to aid the employee so that he can successfully reach his quota.

In a school setting, an action form can be utilized to address issues relating to a student. If a student is behaving poorly in class, for instance, a teacher can come up with a corrective action plan to help the student in altering his ways so that he can perform better.

Action plans usually precede a suspension or a termination, this is the exact reason why an action form is needed. Action forms help to document the progress of an individual after certain corrective measures have been applied. You can also view our Corrective Action Forms for your perusal.

Why Are Action Forms Important?

It is illegal to immediately fire a person for unlawful reasons. For example, you cannot just terminate an employee for having been late once.

Action forms allow management and administrators to keep a good and a clear record of how a person’s attention was called out for committing an infraction and how the management took steps to correct them. In these instances, Employee Action Forms can be used to keep track of an employee’s record.

Action forms are also used to document the progression of disciplinary measures that have been imposed on a person. This is usually necessary especially if the behavior has created a negative impact within the organization.

Before an organization starts to fill out action forms, they should first be able to establish a fixed and consistent code of conduct. These rules and policies will serve as their guide in the implementation of discipline and in supplying action forms.

An individual who is not successful in showing an improvement or is not able to abide by the rules and regulations that have been established by the company, should merit a form of discipline. Being consistent about policies and giving punishments to those who break them, helps to maintain peace and order.
