What is a Gun Transfer?

A gun transfer is a process of transferring or giving ownership of the firearm to another individual whether by means of purchasing the firearm, or by removing the person’s rights to use or own the firearm. It is a common practice amongst firearms dealers which provides some form of security when selling said firearms.

These types of transactions will normally use Sample Firearm Transfer Forms as a way to display their method of transactions whether it be for transferring or purchasing the rights to a firearm.

How Does a Gun Transfer Work?

A gun transfer works by having both parties physically present, and have consented to the requirements of transferring ownership of the gun from one party to the next.

Aside from both parties being present, they must also read over the rules and regulations of the proper gun maintenance as well as the discussion of the cost, provided the gun is to be sold before transferring the ownership of the weapon.

This will be done within the Gun Ownership Transfer Form that will be used as a type of confirmation receipt that the transfer is legitimate.
