An invoice form is a type of form that is used as a means of completing an invoice transaction. An invoice is an itemized account of a certain transaction that would involve the exact specifics as to the amount of goods or products being delivered to the receiver or buyer. This type of form is commonly used by shipping companies in the sense that invoices allow for the monitoring of large scale transactions and makes the transaction more manageable.

In most transactions that involve two parties, there will usually be a means of keeping track of the materials and services being provided, as well as the cost of each material. This will usually be done by using an invoice or receipt. Although they may have the same function in terms of listing down all of the objects in the transaction, a receipt is not a direct equal to that of an invoice.

What is a Blank Invoice?

A blank invoice is an invoice that has been pre-made in some way to be used for any transaction. This is typically done as a means of saving time in preparing an invoice for a certain transaction simply by setting the invoice for the needed transaction.

This can be done due to the fact that a blank invoice has only the basic parts of an invoice available, to allow the user to simply add in additional information to alter the purpose of the invoice. A blank invoice has the potential to become a commercial invoice form simply by altering the blank invoice.

Contents of a Blank Invoice Form

Although the name suggests it is a blank invoice form, it is not completely empty. There are at least a few things that are included in the so called blank invoice. Here is what a blank invoice contains:

  • A frame or outline of the document so as to segregate the tables.
  • Tables containing basic and common questions in every transaction. Questions such as:
    • The name of the buyer.
    • The name of the seller’s company.
    • Contact details of both the buyer and seller.
    • Address or office location of both the buyer and seller.
    • Employees involved. (If you are planning to make a work invoice form)
